Official name: Thassos
Widely known as “Limenas,” as it has always been the island’s main port and commercial center.

Ferry connection:
During the summer season, there are frequent daily ferry routes to and from Keramoti.
The journey takes approximately 35 minutes, as Limenas is the closest point of Thassos to mainland Greece.
The first ferries depart around 05:30, while the last ones run until approximately 23:00.

Transport:
The main KTEL bus station is located here, making Limenas the central transport hub and starting point for routes across the island.

Nearby Beaches

  • Limanaki: A picturesque sandy beach next to the old port, awarded with a Blue Flag 
  • Nisteri: A शांत and relaxing beach, 3.5 km from the center (about 5 minutes by car) 
  • Makryammos: An organized beach in a pine-covered setting, 3.5 km east of Limenas (around 7 minutes by car) 
  • Agios Vasileios, Tarsanas, Glyfada, Papalimani, Glikadi: Smaller beaches along the road towards Prinos

  • Kalogeriko: A 19th-century stone building at the old port, now used for cultural events 
  • Old Port: A charming fishing harbor next to the Ancient Agora and Limanaki beach 
  • Ancient Military Harbor: Ruins visible beneath the sea surface near the old port 
  • Ancient Commercial Harbor: Located in the Evraikastro area, next to the modern shipyard
