In Limenaria, at the top of the hill above the settlement, what remains of the "Palataki" of the early 1900s, which housed the offices of the old mines, overlooks the sea.

 It was named so by the locals because of its majestic construction. Its designer was the Italian architect Peitro Arigoni and its original owner was the German Speidel, who was the owner of the eponymous mining company, which settled in Thassos to inaugurate the modern period of its mining activity
